Default Has anyone any ideas?

Hi guys,

I'm convinced my motherboard has some sort of I/O fault.

When I print something 90/100 times it prints part of the page then throws the rest out blank, bringing an error up in print manager.

Transferring photos from anything to anything (e.g phone to pc, camera to pc etc) the thumbnail looks ok, but load the picture and half or so of it is corrupted with plain grey.

I have also had fault transferring video files across the network to my server.

ASRock include xfastUSB and xfastLAN applications, though i had turned them off to try again and it still happens.

Has anyone any ideas? Mishima, you have this motherboard also, any such problems?

Does anyone know of a program that can test corruptions/packet loss across usb somehow?

thanks for your help

Does your printer have wireless?, if so couldn't you try and send a file wireless across and see if it comes out ok?

you tried a different cable?, has the printer got an SD card slot etc you can test on to make sure its not the printer itself?

No mate, only USB, still in the stone ages

I will try a different cable just to be sure, but the problem seems to be just about any I/O on USB. Although i'm not certain I have any problems with mouse/keyboard.

Can you try printing from another computer or is that not an option?

I can't see your motherboard being at fault if your mouse/keyboard do not display similar, intermittent faults.

I used to have this mobo mate, like you say, but I upgraded to Z77 and moved on from it. It sounds to me like you might have a driver conflict. Have you tried using a different driver for the chipset plus the USB?

Is it just now? Yeah could be a cable problem. Have you tried printing from a different source like a different computer or laptop?

it's weird that you see half-thumbnails too if you use USB connections. But you have problems transferring things through network too....so check your ram with memtest or similar softwares! Ram could cause really weird problems like that!

thanks for all the suggestions, i've a few things to try over this weekend and hopefully will find the root of the problem.

Really don't want to be buying a new motherboard if I can possibly help it

Thanks again, i'll keep you posted
